Shoes

While other aspects of an outfit are important, of course, perhaps the most important article of clothing is the shoe. Sure, blouses and pants are integral to an outfit, but shoes are what support you, literally.

Let’s talk about which of these trending items I love most (hint: it’s all of them).

Pumps

One of the most elegant types of shoe is the pump. A pair of classic heels can come in many different forms, from chunky and colorful to simple and sleek. Typically thought of as a more formal type of shoe, pumps are making their way into every aspect of fashion. Nothing says red carpet more than a pair of strappy stilettos.

No longer just dress shoes; these can go with everything, bringing a new balance to the footwear universe:

You can make these best sellers more casual with platform sandals or wedge sandals. In terms of heeled sandals, block heels are generally easier to walk in. Those with extra cushioning around the footbed are essentially the athletic shoes of the high heel world.

Style With Wide-Leg Pants

Styling pumps with different forms of bottoms is a key element to keep in mind. These two pieces of clothing interact with each other the most, so prioritizing your bottoms makes sense.

I love to pair my wide-leg pants with a pair of simple suede heels for a minimal yet refined look. While there are so many ways you can style an outfit as a working professional, I find this is one of the simplest.

Style With a Dress

You can’t talk about heels without talking about dresses. These two iconic articles of clothing go hand in hand. Throughout fashion history, you’ll see these two pieces being worn flawlessly together.

Another fantastic way to wear your pumps is with a slip dress. This trendy little dress is soaring in popularity and looks absolutely elegant when paired with two sky-high pumps. Add some heeled slip-ons to your slip for an ensemble that is charmingly clever.

Slides and Boots

If you’re looking for something a bit more casual but still just as cute, then slides are here to help. Slide sandals are well suited for a day of running errands or when you’re touring around on vacation.

Style With a Maxi Dress

Speaking of vacation, slides with a maxi dress is the iconic duo that will step up your beach game. I love wearing a maxi dress over my swimsuit and adding some slides for an easy way to take my shoes on and off when I’m chilling at the beach.

When I rock a maxi dress, I know I’ll make waves with a pair of booties. Booties are kind of like an extended, high-top loafer or a low-top knee-high. They’re the perfect middle, and any new arrival would be a wonderful addition to your boot collection.

Style With a Romper

One of my favorite articles of clothing to wear with my slides is a precious romper. Just as comfy and cute as my slides, a romper makes for the ultimate simple outfit.

When I go on a picnic with my friends, this is my go-to look. Flat sandals accommodate chill afternoons at the park but are slightly more elevated than traditional flip-flops.

Shoes for Any Walk of Life

Shoes take you everywhere you go, which is one aspect that makes them so essential to an outfit. They’re also just the best way to accessorize and tie an ensemble together. Whether you’re attending your BFF’s wedding or visiting your parents, there’s a shoe that’s perfect for you.
