Bags and Accessories
As the seasons come and go, you may find yourself sorting through your shoulder bags, backpacks, and purses, trying to see what still holds up and what you might need to replace. You might also be doing the same with accessories like hats, watches, and sunglasses. Maybe you’re wondering how you can style them and where to wear them.
While it’s easy to use the same leather handbag or saddle bag for years, I encourage you to switch things up a bit. I certainly love a little something new now and then! Fortunately, there are so many different kinds of bags and hats for different occasions.
Here are some of my absolute favorites:
Women’s Bags
Starting with fashion-forward bags, one type I think that everyone should consider owning is a classic tote. Not only are totes and bucket bags timeless and always in style, but they are very practical. That’s a win/win/win.
Tote Bags
You can use a tote bag as a shopper or for school supplies, or use it if you’re going to the beach for the day and need to throw accessories in it. Plus, the top handle makes your favorite canvas tote even easier to carry around.
They’re stylish, versatile, and very convenient. Plus, they offer more space than a belt bag or fanny pack, so they’re ideal when you need to carry a few more items than just the bare necessities.
Crossbody Bags
If you’re looking for another practical yet ever-so-stylish option, a crossbody bag is the perfect new arrival to any wardrobe. While smaller than a large tote bag, these versatile, comfortable women’s handbags work well for any occasion, especially traveling.
An example of a crossbody bag would be the Orange Crossbody bag or the Mini Keley Bag, both of which are from designer Eva Innocenti. With their comfortable and adjustable straps, these are the perfect weekender bags and are great for carrying your phone, credit cards, wallet, and other things without having to lug a large bag or cardholder around.
Handbags
For a more fun option, another kind of bag I adore is a handbag, like the Red Swing Bag by JETLAGMODE, which you can hold in your hand, or the Micro Minca mini bag designed by Camila Mesar, which you can wear over the shoulder. Both of these designer handbags are best sellers for a good reason.
Though much smaller than a tote bag, these chic, cute bags are the ultimate accessory to brighten up a neutral-colored outfit and can function as a carryall for your smaller items. One of these makes a stylish alternative for a card case or wristlet. I simply cannot get enough of them!
Hats
Let’s put it all together: high-fashion hats.
Wide-Brimmed Hats
As far as hats go, it all depends on what you find fits your style. If you like the look of a wide-brim hat that you can wear to multiple events, then look no further than Malau’s Ernesto Camel hat. This comfortable, trendy piece will elevate any outfit.
Western-Wear Hats
If you like the look of a hat that is more aligned with a cowboy aesthetic (think leather satchel, pebbled croc skin boots, and worn-out jeans), then a hat that looks like the Jesús Black from Malau is your best bet.
Before I share my fav floppy hats, I need to mention belts. Luxury belts are the perfect way to bring the vibe of your hat to the rest of your outfit for a totally streamlined ensemble. Go big, go bold, or go subtle — there is no wrong answer, in my opinion!
Floppy Hats
If you’re looking for a floppy hat to wear to the beach, try the adorable Todos Santos ‘Conchas' by Palmier or the Todos Santos ‘Conchas’ Negro. Floppy hats are some of the cutest things ever. Plus, they also do a great job of shielding your face from the sun and protecting your skin.
Put It All Together
Fortunately, there are many types of accessories out there, so it’s a breeze to find the one (or ten) that make my heart sing. Between hats, belts, and purses, there is a show stopper for every moment. From the tip of my shoe to the brim of my hat, I’m fully accessorized and fully ready for anything the day throws my way.
